Bill Monroe is commonly acknowleged as the father of Bluegrass music. In April of 1997 colleagues, friends and family gathered at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium to pay tribute to his life and work. An all-star lineup of artist from the Bluegrass and Country music world performed 29 songs.
